Applicants for admission to the HKUST MSc in Marketing program are expected to have the following credentials:
Satisfactory Undergraduate Degree
A bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or other approved institution and evidence of satisfactory academic performance.
English Proficiency
A satisfactory TOEFL or IELTS score is required for applicants whose first language is not English and whose bachelor’s degree was awarded by an institution where the medium of instruction is not English.
Applicants have to fulfill English Language requirements with one of the following minimum proficiency attainments:
- TOEFL - Internet-based Test (iBT): 80 for tests taken prior to 21 January 2026 or 4.5 for tests taken from 21 January 2026 onwards (in one single attempt)
- TOEFL - Paper-based Test (pBT): 550
- TOEFL - Revised Paper-delivered Test: 60 (total scores for Reading, Listening and Writing sections)
- IELTS (Academic Module): Overall score: 6.5 and all sub-score: 5.5
Satisfactory GMAT/GRE Score
Applicants are highly recommended to have a satisfactory GMAT/GRE score. A GMAT/GRE score is not compulsory but will be taken into consideration.
Work Experience
No minimum work experience is required.
